The British Fashion Council (BFC) has launched a campaign to manufacture and retail “sustainable and reusable non-medical face coverings” across the world.
In partnership with “sustainable manufacturers”, Bags of Ethics, the campaign will see reusable face coverings sold for £15 each, with the aim of raising £1 million for charity.
The campaign, called: ‘Great British Designer Face Coverings: Reusable, for
People and Planet’ will aim to manufacture the face coverings internationally, for people to use alongside social distancing measures.
Manufactured at Bags of Ethics, the non-medical face coverings “offer a reusable and sustainable option for the environment with no single-use plastic”.
The face-covering will be available online through britishfashioncouncil.com and partner retailers such as ASOS, Boots, John Lewis and Sainsbury’s.
It follows the government’s announcement that face masks are to become mandatory on public transport, where social distancing measures aren’t possible.
