Brothers Julius and Victor Juul’s genre-bending sartorial imprint HELIOT EMIL has released its provocative Spring/Summer 2019 collection, which showcases a range of aesthetic sensibilities that seek to channel the underground cultural landscape of their Copenhagen origins. The brand, named after the brothers’ late great-grandfather, has become a fervent force in the current fashion landscape, with Julius taking the role as lead designer while Victor maintains the business side of things. The duo has found support from around the globe, worn by Kendrick Lamar, even finding their way into Korean girl group BLACKPINK‘s “Kill This Love” wardrobe.

The latest range, titled “Referential Transparency,” furthers the brand’s unique look at retro futuristic themes, with the new collection referring to the computer programming expression which iterates that “a function is said to be referentially transparent if it’s replaceable.” Sourcing various fabrics throughout the globe paired with Japanese manufactured hardware, and finally crafted across Europe in Italy, France, and Portugal. Fabrics include a semi-transparent white to heat-sensitive thermos greys to deep black and more. The collection also offers up the imprint’s first official foray into womenswear.
