FashionTech Toronto has launched a partnership with London, England’s Centre for Fashion Enterprise (CFE).
Founded by Ashley Barby in 2017, FashionTech Toronto is a platform for entrepreneurs in Toronto’s fashion, retail, and technology industries to connect and share ideas. It launched as an event series featuring speakers from Shopify, Modiface, and Tulip Retail.
The organization is focusing on establishing global partnerships to encourage growth and position Toronto as a global leader in the fashion-tech industry.
“We are thrilled to be ushering Toronto onto the global tech stage as a pioneer in the fashion and retail sectors,” said Barby. “As Canada’s fashion and technology hub, we know that the innovations emerging from Toronto have positioned the city to emerge as a global leader in the fashion-tech space.”
Fashion business incubator CFE provides several programs available to fashion designers, ranging from early-stage designers seeking market entry to entrepreneurs requiring a fully-tailored program. Alumni include Erdem, Mary Katrantzou, and Peter Pilotto.
“We know that collaboration is essential to innovation, which is why we are very happy to announce our new partnership with FashionTech Toronto,” said Bethany Greer, fashion tech project assistant at the CFE Fash-Tech Pioneer Programme.
